This course provides an introduction to oral disease, disease prevention strategies, practices, and the role of healthcare professionals for the older adult population and for those in long-term care facilities.

 

Course objectives:

  1. Increase knowledge of elder oral health care in Pennsylvania long-term healthcare facilities
  2. Review Pennsylvania’s oral healthcare policies for long-term healthcare facilities
  3. Review common oral manifestations for those in long-term healthcare facilities
  4. Define the roles of healthcare professionals in long-term healthcare facilities for oral health
  5. Review oral health practices for those in long-term healthcare facilities
