Federally Qualified Health Centers
Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) are primary care facilities in rural and urban areas. There are more than 120 FQHC sites in PA that provide dental care. All insurances are accepted. Fees are based on what the patient can pay and are often based on income level and family size.
Free and Charitable Clinics
Free and charitable clinics see people who are uninsured, need services not covered by insurance (underinsured), or have limited or no access to care. There are nearly 20 free clinics in PA that offer dental services.
Donated Dental Services
Dentists volunteer to provide comprehensive treatment to eligible patients. Applicants must have no means to afford dental care and must meet ONE of the following criteria: over 65 years of age, permanently disabled, or need medically necessary dental care. PA Navigate
PA Navigate is an online tool that connects individuals to community-based organizations, county and state agencies, and healthcare providers. Both individuals and providers can use PA Navigate to make referrals for healthcare services. Dental care resources are located under the “Health” section. It also includes resources to address food, shelter, transportation, and more.

Dental Coverage through the Pennie Marketplace
Pennie, Pennsylvania’s insurance marketplace, offers two ways to get dental coverage outside of employer coverage. Dental coverage can be added to medical insurance, or purchased separately as just a dental plan.
PA Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

PA 211 is a service provided through the United Way of Pennsylvania to provide information and referrals to health, human services, and other social assistance programs.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has a searchable map on their website for Veterans to use their address to find healthcare options (including dental care) nearby.
School-Based Health Centers
School-based health centers provide a range of health services including physical, dental, and behavioral health care for students and parents in the school setting. Available services vary between centers.
